How I ended up buying two dresses in one day from Portland Garment Factory's House Line is really a story about the magic of spontaneous shopping. I wasn’t looking for a dress; I wasn’t looking for anything in particular for that matter. But on that uneventful summer day, I walked into Voyager and learned that Portland Garment Factory was having a pop-up in the store. AND! They were selling their pieces at wholesale prices. As in: no. retail. mark-up. What!?
One pass at these original pieces and I could feel my palms sweating with excitement. I have rocked these two dresses at the ballet, my birthday and at work. I feel special every time I wear them. Learn more about PGF here!
The Skewed Gown is an irridescent midnight blue dress made from Cupro, a cellulose fiber made from recovered cotton waste. It has a silky luster, but breathes and regulates body temperature more like cotton. Its status as an eco fabric is debated because chemicals are used to process the cotton.
